CDs and more CDs

Just bought a new mini hi fi on Sunday. Good deal only $129. Anyway its the last set so I just take it. Decent sound quality. Reason why I buy is because my old radio's cd player is spoilt. Last Friday night, wanted to enjoy some music before I sleep but when I tried to play my CDs, it won't work.

From my secondary school days to now, I have bought so many CDs and they are all sitting around in my room, waiting to be reopened and be heard again. Now that I have my new Hi Fi, I have been playing 1 CD per night. Really brings back memories.

Have listened to 3 CDs so far. 1st being 優客李林, a chinese group of the 90s. I love their songs, classics! Who can forget their songs like 認錯﹐ 輸了你﹐ 贏了世界又如何﹐少年遊 etc? These are evergreen songs and ask anyone at random and they will definitely have heard of 認錯.

2nd CD I listened to is of course from my favourite Scorpions. 1996 album, can you believe it, titled 'Pure Instinct'. Not their best album but nevertheless a good CD to listen to with the powerful rock ballads 'You and I' and 'When you came into my life'.

3rd CD which I just listened today is Michael Learns to Rock Greatest Hits. An absolute hit in my secondary school days. Tell me at that time, who have NOT heard of '25 minutes' or 'Thats why you go away'? Those who have not heard of those 2 songs ought to be shot! hahaha I think every single song on that album is a classic.

As I am typing this, I have already played my 2nd CD of the night, NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALLED MUSIC 3, which I think is the best compilation of the series. No Doubt's Don't Speak, R Kelly's I believe I can fly and Sheryl Crow's If it makes you happy just to name a few. Classics after classics.

I think these songs of the past really have an impact on me. You do not forget the songs even after 10, 15 years on. The songs nowadays do not really have any lasting impact. However, there are still good songs around nowadays though, maybe in another 10 to 15 years will we know whether they will still be remembered or not.

I shall go to bed now, falling asleep to the sound of Lovefool, by the Cardigans, a cute song.

'Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me...' Seriously, I DO NOT wish my girlfriend to be like you. hahaha you get my point. :P
